02 · Superintendent
By thirty-one, the site was his.
Foreman first, then superintendent. He ran the schedule, the subs, and the safety meetings, and the building topped out on time.
03 · Project manager
Then the budget was his too.

04 · Operations
Eleven projects. One desk.
As vice president of operations he stopped building buildings and started building teams. The people he hired now run sites of their own.
05 · Chief executive
The company is his to run.
Chief executive of the firm that once handed him a shovel. The skyline looks different now, and he still walks a site every Friday.
